In the following video just 2 minutes, you can see what today is Bodegas Bocopa:
Bodegas Bocopa is a second-degree cooperative in Petrer. Throughout its history it has created wines under its own brands, all brimming with personality. Before this these qualities were commandeered by others who would attach their own labels and names to “medicinal wines” which were bought in bulk to add colour, vitality and health to their own products. These days, Bogedas Bocopa produces, bottles and markets sixty per cent of the production of Vinos de Alicante (Wines of Alicante). It is a leading player both in the province and in the Community of Valencia as a whole. The company’s wines have received the highest recognition from national and international critics alike. To date, they have won more than 250 prizes at the world’s most prestigious wine competitions, which are displayed with pride at the Bodegas Bocopa headquarters.
“Bocopa will continue to take on challenges in the future, aware that the recipe for success is a blend of an exceptional coupage, a generous dose of business culture and a dash of the need for constant renewal. With basic products like these it is almost impossible not to achieve a great wine” (Andrés Pérez Albert Chairman of Bocopa)
Bodegas Bocopa gives painstaking attention to the importance of vines in the wine-making process. We work in the fields, hand in hand with the six associated wineries: the Cañada, Castalla, Ibi, La Romana, Petrel and Sax cooperative bodegas.
However, there is no master plan for producing our wines. We work with nature, with water, air and with the soil. The only underground part of the operation are the roots of the vines. We have no special, secret method for making our products so popular among our clients. The key to our success, if there is one, is our workforce and their teamwork.
